There is a question we are asked more than almost any other: do I have to come during the Masters? The answer is no. Emphatically, enthusiastically, no. The Masters runs for ten days in April and we design extraordinary weeks around it but the Côte d'Azur is there for the other three hundred and fifty-five. The courts are available.

The coastline is extraordinary. The restaurants are open. And the tennis, which is played on a private court above the sea on a Friday morning in September, with no one else in sight, is available to anyone who decides that this weekend is the one.

What a great Riviera tennis weekend requires is not a major tournament. What the Weekend Feels Like.

The car meets you at Nice Côte d'Azur upon your arrival. By the time you reach the hotel, which takes about twenty minutes along the coast, the week you came from is already behind you. We are there to welcome you with you weekend briefing: court times, coach details, restaurant confirmations. Everything is already done.

Next day begins on a private clay court before the heat of the day arrives. Your coach has been briefed on what you want to work on. The coffee is courtside. The light at this hour is extraordinary. For ninety minutes the only thing that exists is the game — and when the session ends you are already playing better than when it began.

The hours between sessions belong entirely to you. A boat, a long lunch on a terrace above the sea, a private wine tasting in the hills above Grasse, a spa afternoon, a walk or a drive along the Corniche. Luxuria arranges whatever the weekend calls for. On your last day, a morning session, followed by a final lunch, and a transfer back to Nice with the particular quality of tiredness that only comes from two days spent doing exactly the right thing in exactly the right place.
